Content marketing blogs in 2022 [my personal favourites]

Owner & Managing Director of ithelps Digital. Since 2013, he has been deeply engaged in SEO and online marketing.
My personal list of extremely good content marketing blogs to keep up to date and build up knowledge in the field.
There's sure to be a blog or two for you. Check it out.
Content marketing blogs - sources of inspiration and a tool for further education
So, I'm new to the world of content marketing. I've been doing my apprenticeship at ithelps since August 2019. Clearly, you never stop learning in life. Especially not when you're in the middle (or in my case at the beginning) of your training.
I'm very eager to learn and my job as a copywriter at ithelps also requires me to deal intensively with all aspects of online marketing in general and content marketing in particular.
That's why I'm always on the lookout for blogs that help me "quench" my thirst for knowledge in the field of content marketing and keep me up to date.
What I want from a blog
What I want from a blog is for the content of a blog article to provide me with valuable information. And at best in excellent quality.
In other words, that information is conveyed to me in an uncomplicated way. I don't want to have to read a sentence three times just to grasp the meaning.
I trawl through all the content marketing blogs to get answers to my endless questions. Answers that I can work out for myself and don't have to keep asking my colleagues, as they always have enough to do.
What I like about a blog
What I find most appealing about a blog is when the post is written in a personal tone. It's as if the person is standing in front of me and telling me the answers to my questions and the solutions to my problems as if it were a normal conversation.
This way of writing has always fascinated me.
(I think that's why my German teacher from sixth form always said that no matter what I write, it always reads like a magazine. Of course, that wasn't desirable back then, but today it's proving to be extremely practical. For example, when I write a blog article like this one)
I would also say that the uniqueness of a blog - and by that I also mean its content, of course - is particularly important. I don't want everyone to write the same thing and tell me the same thing as a result.
If you're like me, I've listed a few content marketing blogs that I think are particularly good because they fulfil the criteria I just mentioned.
So let's get started:
Content marketing blogs that I find particularly good and read regularly
Jaeckert & O'Daniel
I came across these two gentlemen quite early on. The podcast by the two blog operators is a fixed component for me to complete my picture of the SEO world in general and content marketing in particular.
(In our company, weekly training is mandatory. If nothing comes my way during the week, then I'm in good hands with these two gentlemen)
I love the composition of their team, their way of spreading knowledge and their approach to things. They offer high performance content as a service and it is precisely this kind of high performance content that they deliver in their podcast.
Jaeckert & O'Daniel publish their podcasts at a frequency of 7 days.

toushenne
The blog operator Robert Weller is an integral part of the "scene" in the field of content marketing. He is both a keynote speaker and book author
Robert Weller is the operator of his blog and writes some of his blog articles himself, but he always has various guest authors on his blog. (That's how I came across Copyblogger, but more on that in a moment)
In my personal opinion, Robert Weller writes in a way that is easy to understand, but in such a way that you feel you have learnt something after reading it. However, I think it's great that toushenne also publishes articles by guest authors and thus offers variety and different perspectives.
The advantage of this is that if someone who can convey information to me in a very understandable way recommends someone else to me, then of course I follow up on the recommendation and try it out straight away.
(It would be almost negligent of me not to do so)
Frequency of publications: Irregularly at about 1-month intervals.
Copyblogger
I find copybloggers totally fascinating. I've already learnt a lot from them and have been able to apply it straight away. I find their blog simply unbeatable for further training and therefore also for improving my writing style.
The owners of Copyblogger also have a podcast on Spotify. (As you can probably tell, I have a penchant for podcasts. If that's not practical, I don't know what is)
Copyblogger is an English-language blog, which is very convenient for me personally. Recording content in different languages offers a certain kind of variety for me.
Frequency of publication: weekly
Chimpify (previously Affenblog)
Chimpify - the classic par excellence. Formerly also known as Affenblog, but that was "before my time".
As soon as you search for anything about content marketing, at least in German-speaking countries, you end up at Chimpify, the inbound marketing blog of marketer Vladislav Melnik, who not only runs the blog but is also the author of numerous blog articles. On the blog, you can find an article on just about any topic imaginable, as long as it has something to do with content marketing.
They are also pioneers in the field of inbound marketing.
The articles can be read to the end without any difficulty in understanding the content straight away thanks to a certain lightness of tone. I really like the way the blog articles are presented, which makes them a lot of fun to consume.
Frequency of publications: I have not been able to find out. However, the articles and topics are always kept up to date.
Targetable
Zielbar is an online magazine that helps you broaden your horizons. The main topics are marketing, communication and social media. The articles are written by a large number of authors and experts.
However, they are not only permanent members of the Zielbar team, but also guest authors.
On the blog or magazine, as the operators call it, you will find a wide variety of tips & tricks created for beginners through to experts.
Frequency of publications: 7-14 days
Seocracy
I only recently came across Seokratie when I was travelling on the train and was looking for further education material. The question I ask myself: "Why not earlier?"
It's nice that the operators also publish YouTube videos to accompany most of the blog articles, which makes a pleasant change and helps people understand the content thanks to the multi-sensory presentation.
(I also always find it nice to know the voices and faces of the people who wrote the articles)
Seokratie's blog posts not only cover the topic of content marketing, but also social media.
Frequency of publications: Weekly. Often 2 posts are published per week.
t3n
I would say that t3n is the place to go if you want to stay up to date in the digital world. The variety of topics as well as the freshness and topicality of the content is great.
In this blog article, I'm talking about content marketing blogs and t3n is also a great place for this. Because here you get all the news served fresh from the oven.
Frequency of publications: Irregularly. If you don't want to miss a post: Subscribe!
Neil Patel
Neil Patel is not just a successful tool operator, no. On the website of the "online marketing guru" you will also find a detailed blog on the topics of online marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), etc. and, last but not least, content marketing. He himself is one of 10 or 11 authors.
No matter how far into content marketing you are, whether you are a beginner (like me) or advanced, there is something for everyone on Neil Patel's blog.
(My colleague has written a detailed blog article about Ubersuggest, Neil Patel's free SEO tool. In it, you'll learn how to best use Ubersuggest for your online success, including your content marketing, and what we think of it)
Frequency of publications: At least 2 posts per week.
ithelps
And of course you can also find a lot about content marketing on our blog. For example, the article Content Marketing & SEO - the dream couple of customer acquisition aka How to build trust with your content through content marketing and SEO and thus generate permanent and free website visitors, enquiries and customers.
The articles on our blog are written by my colleagues from the content team and myself.
Frequency of publications: We try to post weekly, time permitting. This doesn't always work, as we also have other things to do in our SEO agency. For example, developing content marketing strategies for our clients and writing and revising their SEO texts and blog articles 😉
Personal summary of my favourite content marketing blogs:
I think this blog article on my favourite content marketing blogs will be added to again and again. Because I will always continue to develop, acquire more knowledge in the industry and keep discovering new sources to expand my knowledge.
That's why I imagine that this blog post will help other people who, like me, are new to this extremely diverse field of content marketing. But it can also benefit experienced marketers who are simply looking for new sources of knowledge.
