- Which SEO blogs do you visit regularly?
You know the answer to the question of where to hide a dead body so that it can't be found. On page 2 of Google.
It's old and hackneyed. I know. But there's a lot of truth in it.
Nobody cares about page 2, only page 1 counts.
We used to write blog articles on our blog - when we were still an IT company - and hoped that one of our articles would make it to one of the top positions. And sometimes it did.
Sometimes.
Now, as a search engine optimisation agency, we deal with the latest trends and strategies in SEO on a daily basis.
We consume all relevant SEO blogs, SEO news portals, videos and magazines on the subject.
The result: 47 of our last 50 blog articles are positioned on page 1 of Google. Our website ranks with 11,200 organic keywords. Of these, 873 are on page 1.
This is exactly what you can achieve with your website if you keep up to date with SEO.
So if you're looking for the best SEO news, check out our selection of SEO blogs and news.
The featured sites are all you need to stay up to date.
Number 7 and number 17 are - besides our own blog ;) - my personal favourites.
SISTRIX SEO Blog
Language: German
In addition to the analysis tool for website rankings (SISTRIX Toolbox), Sistrix also offers a blog for SEO news and trends. Several authors write on current and relevant topics. There is also an extensive range of further training courses, with regulars' tables and SEO talks also being organised.
A highly topical subject is addressed in this article: User intent as the key to long-term SEO success
News and SEO blog: SEO united
Languages: German and English
Seo-United.de brings you the latest news and several topical articles every day, primarily concerning SEO, Google and online marketing. The offer is available under SEO national in German and under SEO international in English.
There is also an SEO blog on which articles are published at irregular intervals, about 1-5 articles per month.
Here is an example: Ahrefs study: does reciprocal link exchange have a negative effect on SEO?
Seo-United.de also offers SEO and web hosting as well as an agency search for D-A-CH, events and international job offers. An SEO tutorial can also be found here. This site is therefore very comprehensive and yet clearly organised.
SEOSÜDWEST
Language: German
SEOSÜDWEST offers news from the world of SEO and online marketing several times a day on its blog. The articles are up to date and concise.
If you want to stay up to date but don't have much time to read, the SEO news from SEOSÜDWEST is just right for you.

There is also lots of information on the individual areas and a link to the events organised by marketinglandevents.com.
An overview of the Google updates can also be found here. There is some sponsored content on the site, but this is explicitly labelled. The site is also visually well structured.

SEO Blog from Backlinko
Language: English
Backlinko is one of the best-known SEO blogs in the world. Brian Dean, the founder of Backlinko and author of the SEO blog, always keeps his blog posts up to date. His approach is quality over quantity. The articles are very comprehensive and detailed.
You have to register for free to access all the information. However, the majority is also accessible without registration. But don't worry, Brian won't spam you with unnecessary emails. It's definitely worth following this SEO blog.
His videos on YouTube are also interesting and very detailed.
Here is an example:
Super article: SEO Strategy: How to Create an Effective Plan
Ahrefs SEO Blog
Language: English
The Ahrefs SEO blog is well maintained and offers up-to-date articles that are very clearly written. A new SEO article is published every week or so, often there are even 2.
Apart from the fact that Ahrefs provides a great SEO tool, the SEO news and blog posts are also absolutely TOP. They are described in detail, illustrated and videos are included where appropriate.

The MOZ (SEO) Blog
Language: English
Moz is probably the best-known SEO blog, and for good reason.
Founder Rand Fishkin and his team have published a lot of great articles over the years, and continue to do so regularly. Particular highlights in my opinion are the Whiteboard Friday videos.
You can also find the entire video collection on MOZ's YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/MozHQ/videos

SEMrush SEO Blog
Language: English
SEMRush publishes a lot of SEO content. In total, they have published around 3,000 blog posts. There really is something for everyone.
The articles are described in detail, but there is no unnecessary blah blah.
One example: Weekly Wisdom with Ross Tavendale: Super Fast Keyword Research
Clear and to the point.
SEARCH ENGINE WATCH
Language: English
The SEO blog of Search Engine Watch was founded in 1996 by Danny Sullivan. It is a mixture of SEO blog and SEO news portal. It publishes an average of one article per day and always has its finger on the pulse.
In the categories Industry, SEO, PPC, Analytics, Social, Local, Mobile, Video, Content, Development, Reports and the numerous subcategories, there is something for everyone.

GOTCH SEO BLOG
Language English
Gotch SEO was founded in 2013 by Nathan Gotch and has really taken off in the last year or two.
Nathan Gotch is an author himself and specialises in particularly comprehensive guides and tutorials. As such "big" articles can't be written overnight, he only publishes about once a month.
I also particularly like Nathan Gotch's videos.
Here is an example video:
An example from his SEO blog: Advanced SEO Audit Checklist for 2024
SEO Blog by Robbie Richards
Language: English
Robbie Richards is not so well known here. However, the Australian is known for publishing some of the most detailed guides in the industry.
The average length of his blog posts (at least the most recent ones) is an incredible 12,000 words. This is also the reason why he only publishes about one blog post per month on average.
The articles are a real hit and have a correspondingly high number of comments. Here is a post that particularly appeals to me as a copywriter.
It's definitely worth visiting the blog regularly.
SEO by the sea
English language
A blog for anyone who wants to know how Google works.
According to Ahrefs, Bill Slawski, the founder and author of the blog, is known for analysing many Google patents and whitepapers in detail. Therefore, his blog is a great place to learn why search engines do what they do.
So if you want to look behind the scenes of Google and Co. you should visit the SEO blog often.
Take a look at this example: How Google Identifies Primary Versions of Duplicate Pages
SEARCH ENGINE ROUNDTABLE
English language
An SEO news website that you can visit several times a day and always find new articles and news. there is "fresh" SEO news 5-6 times a day.
The Search Engine Roundtable collects the most interesting threads from SEM forums and summarises them. From the article, you can access the threads in the forums if you wish and can also read them there. Users can have threads added if they fulfil certain criteria.
The Search Engine Roundtable offers an extensive collection and has a very clear and reduced design. It covers the areas of SEO, Google, Bing and Yahoo as well as some other topics such as SEA, social search and affiliate marketing.
Most of the posts are short and to the point. Short enough to keep the SEO community in a hurry up to date with developments in the SEO industry. Long enough not to leave out anything important.
The SEO category includes the following subcategories:
- Sitemaps
- Spiders
- Informational Sites SEO
- SEO Copywriting
- Keyword Research
- Link Building
- Dynamic Site SEO
- Cloaking
- Local SEO

His motto: "Do great things for our clients, our team and the community at large."

SEO blog by Neil Patel
Languages: English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Indian
Neil Patel's SEO blog doesn't just offer great, practice-orientated tips. It is also an excellent study for anyone who wants to know how successful SEO and online marketing works.
Don't just read his blog articles carefully, but study their structure, organisation and content. And if you want to do it just as well on your own blog, just do it the way he does it.
